International Concepts was founded in 1979 in Greensboro, NC as an unfinished furniture wholesaler, providing furniture to retail stores throughout the Eastern United States. Initially International Concepts only purchased and resold furniture products, however, it soon became obvious that profits and sales could be increased by assembling some of the products at their own facilities. In 1985, International Concepts moved to a 9,000 sq. foot facility in Jamestown, NC while continuing to wholesale unfinished furniture. In 1987, the company started importing chair components and assembling them to sell to unfinished furniture stores. That same year International Concepts moved from Jamestown, NC to High Point, NC and leased a 24,000 sq. facility. In 1990, the owners of International Concepts purchased a building in Thomasville, NC and the company moved again. The new building more than tripled available warehouse space. Finished furniture was added to the International Concepts lineup. In mid 1994, International Concepts purchased another large facility in Thomasville which brought total manufacturing, office and warehouse space to well in excess of 200,000 sq. feet. | |
